Dr. Uche Eneanya is a board-certified pain management physician specializing in the evaluation and treatment of spine-related conditions, including back pain, neck pain, and nerve-related symptoms. His focus is on understanding why symptoms are continuing and determining the most appropriate next step based on each patient’s history and imaging.
Dr. Eneanya earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Swarthmore College before completing medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine. He went on to complete an internship in internal medicine at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, followed by a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He further advanced his training through a pain management fellowship in Harrisburg, where he developed a strong foundation in interventional pain management and spine-focused care.
He is board certified by both the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Pain Medicine, reflecting his training in both functional rehabilitation and procedural treatment.
In clinical practice, Dr. Eneanya takes a structured, multidisciplinary approach to pain management. Many of the patients he sees have already tried physical therapy, medication, or injections without lasting improvement. His role is to evaluate what has already been done, review imaging such as MRI results, and determine whether additional non-surgical treatment or a surgical consultation may be appropriate.
He believes that patients should have a clear understanding of their condition and be actively involved in decisions about their care. His approach focuses on identifying the source of pain, explaining findings in a way that makes sense, and outlining realistic next steps.
Having spent most of his life in the greater Philadelphia and South Jersey area, Dr. Eneanya remains closely connected to the community he serves. Outside of the office, he enjoys weight training, skiing, reading, and following local sports.
